Dr. Peter Blendonohy is a graduate of Georgetown
University in Washington, DC. He earned his
medical degree from the Des Moines University in
Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine Residency
at Northwestern University Medical School and
the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, both in
Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Blendonohy completed a
Fellowship in Traumatic Brain Injury
Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute
of Chicago.
Dr. Blendonohy is board certified by the
American Board of Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation and is a Fellow of the American
Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
and a member the American Medical Association.
He is a proud member of the Illinois Army
National Guard and has completed three
deployments to Iraq in support of Operation
Iraqi Freedom.
Dr. Blendonohy was a staff physician at National
Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC. He is
on staff at several of the area hospitals
including Resurrection Medical Center in
Chicago, Illinois where he serves as medical
director of a 64 bed rehabilitation medicine
program. Dr. Blendonohy has over 20 years
experience treating patients recovering from
stroke, joint replacement or in acute and
chronic pain, musculoskeletal pain, and
traumatic brain injuries.
As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Blendonohy
received additional specialty training in the
art and science of musculoskeletal therapy and
total person wellness.
